I would argue the best way to cure simulcast distortion is to use a receiver designed to deal with it. :-) Joe M.

System?
Multicast systems are not an issue for any scanner. It's simulcast systems that are the issue since there are multiple transmitters in the same area on the same frequencies. Joe M.

Either BCD996P2 or BCT15X if you do not need P25. For non-digital no reason to go with the 996P2. Joe M.

PRO-97 Problem?
Do you have any squelch if you are holding on a CSQ channel? If not, the issue is probably the squelch control that is open. (open as in no connection, not open as in open squelch) Joe M.

On either of these, does it provide loud audio? I've had some that were great but others are very low audio. Joe M.

You're correct about the "protruding part", but the criteria is not the connector as a whole but at the center. The Male has the pin. But this is something that will most likely not be made more clear

another antenna question
You want to use a device called a Diplexer to connect multiple antennas. (that would be the 'best' equivalent of the previous case) Your second antenna may be providing a 'short' of the 800 MHz signal
